I become easily attached to my crafty works. Every item I make for swaps I have to make in double so that my partner gets theirs. Every item I pour a bit of my soul into ends up becoming a treasure to me and I don't want to give it away. This happens every time I make something for a swap. I am telling you this because the bookmark I have posted here is my bookmark for the Kawaii Bookmark swap I am hosting at swap-bot. Perhaps I should say it WAS the one I was going to send my partner. Now I have ended up deciding to make them another one and keep this one to myself. As of right now it is snugly fit between the pages of Twilight. Yes I have finally given in and decided to read the book. 37 pages in and I could hardly put it down to update my blog. I think it is going to be a long night.

hehe i think this is gorgeous! i know what you mean about making something almost too sweet to part with. But then again, i think the reason why i started swapping was to push me to create more xox
I always have that problem! Not with swaps, given that I haven't done any real swaps, but when I'm making things for friends. Or I'll make something for myself and immediately they want one! I'm not terribly crafty, but the few things I do I tend to like.
I love that bookmark! I want to get back into drawing my own bookmarks. Once upon a time I would draw a bookmark for pretty much anything I was reading--I would pick a scene/character/concept/whatever from within the amount that I had read that really stuck with me and drew the bookmark. Or wrote it. Whatever seemed to fit the book!
...'course, that was in high school, when it was easy to just doodle one when I wasn't paying attention in class!
This was the first bookmark I have ever made. I had so much fun with it that now I want to make more. I have the problem giving things away to my family members also. I made my hubby a couple albums for different occasions and I make him leave them in my studio. LOL He is free to look at them anytime he wants though. :)
hehe, cute bookmark! You must really love kawaii stuff. I should send you some more since I have easy access to them.
I can relate to wanting to make things twice so you can have a copy for yourself! I always have the hardest time giving things away too. Unfortunately, most of the stuff I make always looks much better the first time I make it....
Feel free to send away. LOL I will never tire of getting more kawaii stuff.
I totally agree with you on the first always being the best. I made a Jack Skellington Pencil Topper and posted it on my facebook and within the hour I had an order for three of them. Now I am trying to make them and they just aren't as impressive to me as the first one was. I think I am being too hard on myself but when someone is paying for something you want perfection.
